"This year, RAWSA is excited to announce its partnership with The Danish Embassy in Egypt on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Egypt. SRHR are recognized as fundamental human rights. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), SRHR rests on the recognition of the right of all individuals to decide freely and responsibly the number, spacing, and timing of their children, to have the information and means to do so, and the right to attain the highest standard of sexual and reproductive health services and facilities.

Access to SRHR is crucial to promoting gender equality, economic growth, women empowerment, and improving child survival and maternal health. Advancing SRHR also gives women the autonomy to make decisions on their own, over their body, and family planning. With Embassy, we are thrilled to launch our project “My Body is My Right”. A year full of activities, look forward to our:

  • Upcoming local Training of Trainers in Upper Egypt on reproductive health and family planning,
  • Our regional bi-annual strategy meeting,
  • An advocacy guide for activists in the MENA region,
  • A SRHR application for Egypt.”
